Data and Insight is rapidly becoming the nucleus of our business which makes this an exciting time to join us!  We are investing heavily in the application of data and Customer Decisioning technology, meaning for the first time analytics will be driving our customer strategy and market-leading personalised customer experiences.


Our Marketing Data Science Manager will be responsible for managing a team providing CRM campaign insights and implementing advanced modelling to help drive key strategic and investment decisions across the business. As we progress in both Cloud technology and automated decision using our wealth of customer data, the successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to play a leading role in shaping a programme with the potential to revolutionise our business. Alongside this there is also an emphasis on using analytics to enable business change and realising benefit so excellent communication and influencing skills will be necessary to bring multiple and varied stakeholders on the journey.


How you will make an impact as a Marketing Data Science Manager

There are many ways for you to get involved:    
 

  • Take accountability for developing and owning the strategy for Marketing Data Science within TUI UK & Ireland, specifically how we can use our insight to drive business decisions
  • Take ownership of the data and modelling requirements for our Customer Decisioning project, working with the project teams to make recommendations and enable effective delivery of requirements
  • Enable the team in using the latest analytical methods to determine or change business strategies
  • Developing a team of marketing data scientists who are regarded as business partners and can communicate in a way that demands action from stakeholders
  • Continuously evaluate data science tools and implement recommendations to amend the toolset as required
  • Pro-actively identify opportunities for business improvement and follow these through to implementation
  • Ensure appropriate segmentations and models are developed to support our CRM strategy
  • Ensure timely, meaningful and insightful performance evaluation is produced for all CRM activity, and drives future investment and development decisions
  • Ensure that we have the most appropriate data to support our business needs, making proactive recommendations for enhancements when appropriate
  • Work with analytics managers from other business teams and Group source markets to ensure consistent standards are agreed across the whole group (may require some European travel)

  • Proven track record in similar roles
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills coupled with sound commercial awareness
  • The ability to work on own initiative and contribute to the direction of projects
  • Demonstrable analytical problem solving capabilities
  • Experience of using propensity models and segmentations in personalisation / decisioning
  • Ability to articulate analysis for a non-technical audience with clarity and in an engaging way
  • Educated to a degree standard, ideally in a mathematical, economic or scientific related discipline
  • Applied statistics - one of ideally applied statistics/operational research/management science
  • Expert user for MS applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ideal, but not necessary - exposure to analysing large data volumes using such tools as SQL, SAS, SPSS
  • Ideal, but not necessary – exposure to R, Python, Spotfire, Alteryx, Snowflake or other data science tools
  • Ideal, but not necessary - capable and experienced in techniques to deduce from a data set the influences from different attributes e.g. multiple regression, multivariate analysis of variance, discriminant analysis
