For TUI InfoTec GmbH in Hanover we are seeking with immediate effect a: System Engineer Foundation Layer

Would you like to support the Cloud Journey of the TUI Group through your cooperation? Would you like to help migrate onpremise components to the public cloud (AWS) and advise business partners and product teams on virtualization and cloud solutions?
Then become a member of the Technical Services team as a system specialist in the VMware and automation environment.

In concrete terms, your tasks include
  • Work on system-specific tasks in the context of application migrations
  • Provide services and administration of system environments in accordance with agreed service execution and quality
  • Plan, provide and test new releases within the framework of the given system architecture as well as adapt the systems in coordination with business partners / application developers
  • Analyse the existing systems with regard to performance, capacity utilization and degree of utilization as well as consult the business partners with regard to optimization of costs, tuning potentials and performance
  • Develop and implement backup and restart concepts within the framework of data protection and data security requirements
  • Automate operating procedures
  • Ensure 24*7 system availability
  • Academic degree in computer science or a comparable qualification
  • Practical experience in using the IT Service Management Model (ITIL)
  • Several years of experience in operating large VMware-based server environments
  • Know-how is based on the current release of VMware components (Hypervisor, vRealise , Horrizon View)
  • Good knowledge of Windows and Linux
  • Good knowledge of at least one scripting language (JavaScript) to automate workflows
  • Experience in cloud technologies
  • Very good knowledge of English and German (written and spoken)
  • Radiate a high service orientation as well as a confident appearance towards the business partners
  • Pronounced ability to work in a team - even in international teams
  • Ready to take over on-call services (7x24)
  • Willingness to develop yourself further technologically
